Build Your Own Sparkling Tea

How This Iced Tea Became My Favorite

At one of the places I used to work, we made a huge variety of iced teas every day. As a tea fanatic, I took full advantage of that and started experimenting with different tea blends, flavors, and brewing techniques.

After trying countless combinations, I discovered a few standout favorites—but this one quickly became my go-to drink. I loved it so much that I ended up making (and drinking) one almost every single day.

The Secret: Brewing a Tea Concentrate

The key to making a bold, flavorful iced tea that doesn’t get watered down is simple: brew a tea concentrate.

Instead of steeping your tea in a full pitcher of water, you use a smaller amount of hot water to create a stronger, more concentrated base. This allows you to:

  • Preserve the full tea flavor
  • Add ice, syrup, or sparkling water without dilution
  • Create a more balanced and vibrant drink

This technique is especially useful when making sparkling iced tea, where added carbonation can otherwise weaken the flavor.

Flavor Combination: Blood Orange and Strawberry

One of my absolute favorite combinations was blood orange herbal tea with a touch of strawberry syrup.

  • Blood orange tea brings a bright, citrusy, slightly tart flavor
  • Strawberry syrup adds a smooth, subtle sweetness
  • Sparkling water gives it a refreshing, bubbly finish

Together, they create a perfectly balanced drink that feels both refreshing and a little indulgent.

Tips for the Best Iced Tea

  • Use high-quality herbal tea for the best flavor
  • Don’t over-dilute—keep the concentrate strong
  • Adjust syrup levels based on your sweetness preference
  • Try different fruit syrups like raspberry, peach, or mango
