Maple + Bacon
I don’t typically have Sundays off working in food service, so when I finally saw a rare day off, I knew we had to take advantage of it and try a new breakfast spot. This restaurant is located in the heart of the Aberdeen neighborhood in Valparaiso, Indiana, and it quickly became one of those places that feels like a hidden gem worth sharing.
From the outside, the building immediately catches your eye. It’s a charming brick structure with a vintage, almost timeless feel that fits perfectly into the neighborhood. But the real experience begins once you step inside.
A Warm, Cozy Breakfast Atmosphere in Valparaiso, IN
Walking through the doors, you’re instantly transported into a homestyle, cozy breakfast environment that feels welcoming and familiar. Everything about the space screams comfort food and weekend brunch. The interior has that warm, inviting charm that makes you want to settle in and stay awhile.
What made the visit even more special was the seasonal atmosphere. Since it was around Christmas, all the staff were dressed in festive holiday attire, which added a fun, cheerful energy to the entire experience. It felt lively without being overwhelming—just the right balance of cozy and celebratory.
If you’re looking for a cozy breakfast restaurant in Valparaiso, IN, this place absolutely delivers on atmosphere alone.
Creative Craft Cocktails for Brunch
One of the standout features of this restaurant is their impressive selection of seasonal craft cocktails, each thoughtfully
designed to match the time of year.
I ordered the Coffee and Donuts cocktail, which included tiramisu liqueur, Bailey’s, chocolate bitters, and other rich flavors. It tasted like dessert in a glass—smooth, sweet, and indulgent, with just the right amount of coffee flavor to balance everything out.
My fiancé ordered the Puff the Magic Dragon cocktail, made with Screwball whiskey, Reese’s Puffs-inspired flavors, and more creative ingredients. It was sweet, playful, and surprisingly strong—definitely a fun holiday-themed drink and a perfect seasonal brunch pick-me-up.
Both cocktails were well-crafted, flavorful, and a great example of how this restaurant elevates the typical brunch drink menu.
Cinnamon Crunch French Toast – A Must-Try Brunch Dish
For food, I ordered the Cinnamon Crunch French Toast, and it did not disappoint. This dish features four thick pieces of French toast layered with crushed Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal and topped with syrup.
Every bite was a mix of soft, fluffy bread and crunchy, cinnamon-sweet cereal pieces, creating an incredible texture contrast. It was rich, sweet, and definitely indulgent—the kind of breakfast that feels like dessert but in the best possible way.
To balance out the sweetness, I also ordered a side of hashbrowns. They were perfectly crispy, which is surprisingly hard to get right. The addition of minced onion gave them extra flavor, making them the ideal savory complement to the French toast.
Jalapeño Cheddar Biscuits & Chorizo Gravy
My fiancé ordered the Jalapeño Cheddar Biscuits with Chorizo Gravy, and this dish was easily one of the most flavorful items of the morning.
The combination of cheesy, slightly spicy biscuits and rich chorizo gravy created a bold, savory bite that really stood out. While I expected a stronger level of heat, the spice was actually quite mild—but still flavorful enough to keep things interesting.
As someone who is sensitive to spice, I appreciated that it had just enough kick without being overwhelming. In fact, it’s a dish I would absolutely order for myself in the future.

Overall, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone in the Valparaiso, Indiana area—or anyone passing through and looking for a memorable brunch experience. Between the cozy, vintage-inspired atmosphere, the creative seasonal cocktails, and the unique, flavorful menu items, there is truly something for everyone.
It’s the kind of place that works just as well for a relaxed family breakfast as it does for a fun weekend brunch with friends.
