Strawberry Buttermilk Biscuits

Servings 8 biscuits

Ingredients
  

  • 1 2/3 Cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 Cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tbsp Salt
  • 6 tbsp of Cold Butter chopped into very small cubes
  • 8 Strawberries Chopped
  • 1 Cup Buttermilk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla

Instructions
 

  • Start by preheating your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Then, line your baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl stir and combine dry ingredients.
  • Using a large fork cut the butter into the dry ingredients by mashing the butter into the dry. Continue this until you have pea sized balls of butter all throughout.
  • In another bowl combine the liquid ingredients and strawberries. Stir until combined.
  • Add the liquid to the dry ingredient bowl. Mix just until combined. Over mixing will make the biscuits tough.
  • With a large spoon, drop the dough onto the tray. Make sure they are all relative in size. This will avoid uneven baking. Brush heavy cream or milk onto each biscuit and bake for 15-17 or until golden on top.
  • Enjoy by itself or with a coffee.
